TEACHING PRACTICE EXPERIENCE

As a part of B.Ed. curriculum, we were sent to different schools for teacher training programme.  I was assigned to practice at RRVGHSS Kilimanoor. There were eight teaching trainees including me from Physical science and Social science departments .

School overview :

    RRVGHSS is located at Kilimanoor - ponganadu road near the Kilimanoor sub registrar office. There are four divisions for both 8th and 9th classes. There is only one Malayalam medium classroom in both standards. Rest of the divisions are English medium classes. I was assigned to teach Chemistry in  8B , 9B  , 9C classes. Due to the covid situation, each divisions are again split in to two batches. The first batch has their classes on monday to wednesday and the second batch has their classes on thursday to saturday. For chemistry,  there were only one chapter to teach in 9th standard and two chapters for 8th standard.I got my time table on the very first day.

School Experience

   There were a pleasent atmosphere in the school. Teachers are really cooperative and friendly. We assigned a classroom to rest . School is working from 9 20 to 12 30 . Long bell at 9 20 is followed with the prayer. And there are four periods each of 40-45 minutes. Covid protocoal is well kept inside the campus. 

Class Experience

   I got my first class  in eighth standard on 4th January . There were only few students in the classroom and everybody were suprised and enthusiastic to meet their new teacher. After a small familiarization section I started my lesson. Students were seemed to be silent listeners. On the same day in got one ninth standard too. They were little more active and they readly gave responses. On the second day, I got only one period that was in 9C class . I felt somewhat more satisfaction in my teaching compared to the previous day. And the 9C class room had about 18 students that day and they were very active students. They were very interested to do the classroom activities . I felt very glad to see that they are responding well and also willing to do the activities. From thursday onwards, the second batch arrived and we needed to take the lessons again. The dividing of each divisions in to batches and the flexible timetable in the school made me little bit confusing. But I am coping up with the circumstances .

The only extra duty assigned to us is covid duty. That is to check the temperature of the studnts in the morning and providing them sanitizer. Being the first week in the school, the days were seemed to be very exciting.
